The Glynn County Board of Commissioners has called for a mandatory evacuation for ALL OF GLYNN COUNTY effective at 8:00 a.m., Friday, September 8, 2017, in anticipation of Hurricane Irma. Residents should evacuate immediately.

In response to Hurricane Irma's possible course along the coast of Georgia, Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Agency (GVRA) will be closing offices in the thirty counties for which a State of Emergency has been declared. Additional offices have been closed that are in close coastal proximity or along major Interstates. Closures include our Vocational Rehabilitation offices in Brunswick, Dublin, Reidsville, Savannah, Statesboro, Swainsboro, Thomasville, Valdosta and Waycross and the Disability Adjudication Offices in Savannah and Thomasville. This list may expand as conditions develop. Offices are currently scheduled to reopen on Tuesday, but conditions will be reassessed early next week. GVRA prioritizes the safety of its clients and staff and will continue to monitor this fluid situation. Check back for updates. Camden County officials have issued a voluntary evacuation effective immediately.

Glynn County Schools, Frederica Academy, Brantley County, Wayne County, Coastal Pines Technical Colelge, Brunswick Christian Academy, Camden County Schools, and McIntosh County County Schools are Closed Friday, Monday and Tuesday. All activities, including athletics and meetings, are canceled.

College of Coastal Georgia closes at 12:30 today. Dorms are being evacuated and should be empty by 6pm tonight.
