Watch Jason Aldean, Keith Urban & More Country Stars Tribute Tom Petty

Almost two weeks after opening Saturday Night Live with an emotional tribute to the Las Vegas shooting victims, Jason Aldean returned to the stage with some of his fellow country stars.

During CMT's 2017 Artists of the Year event, the singer, along with Keith Urban, Chris Stapleton, and Little Big Town, honored the late Tom Petty by singing his hit "I Won't Back Down." Not only did the crowd join by singing along, but the artists were met with a standing ovation after their performance. Take a look at the performance below!

Petty passed away on October 2. He was 66 years old. Following his death, his longtime manager released a statement on his death. "On behalf of the Tom Petty family we are devastated to announce the untimely death of our father, husband, brother, leader and friend Tom Petty," the statement read. "He suffered cardiac arrest at his home in Malibu in the early hours of this morning and was taken to UCLA Medical Center but could not be revived. He died peacefully at 8:40pm PT surrounded by family, his bandmates and friends."
