At a news conference on Wednesday, Georgia Governor Brian Kemp said that he will be issuing a statewide shelter in place for the Peach State and is expected to last until April 13th.
Governor Kemp also said that all in-person K-12 public school classes will be canceled for the remainder of the school year.
According The Georgia Department of Public Health's Wednesday 12pm update 4,638 confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been reported.
The total deaths related to COVID-19 is now 139. A total of 952 confirmed cases are hospitalized. Over 20,000 test have been conducted in the state.

The DPH will release updated numbers daily at noon and 7 p.m.
