Get ready to ROC it as St. Louis Ovarian Cancer Awareness (SLOCA) invites you to
join the 17th annual Families Run for Ovarian Cancer ROC Star 5k and 1-Mile Run/Walk, taking place on Sunday, October 8, 2023, at Soldiers Memorial in downtown St. Louis.
Why this means so much
After losing my sister, Shana to Ovarian Cancer this year, the annual SLOCA run/walk takes on an even deeper meaning for me to memoralize her life. As well as celebrate those who've beaten this silent killer of so many. PLEASE join me, Judi Diamond, for this fun and important event! For more event details and registration visit SLOCA online at www.sloca.org.
This year's event promises a fun-filled, family-friendly atmosphere to champion women battling ovarian cancer, their families, loved ones, and the medical community. This year's event will feature special guests including 103.3 KLOU radio DJ Judi Diamond as the MC, and appearances by St. Louis Cardinals mascot Fredbird and Louie, mascot for St. Louis Blues. Attendees can enjoy a variety of vendors and activities that will ensure fun for the whole family, including the always popular Bubble Bus, face painting, roaming selfie stations, Kona Ice Truck and even FLU Shots provided by Walgreens (ages 7+).
Susan Robben, Executive Director of SLOCA, remarked, "The ROC Star 5k and 1-Mile Run/Walk is a testament to the incredible spirit of our community. It not only raises vital funds but also spreads much-needed awareness about ovarian cancer. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those affected by this disease."
