Elle King has canceled a few previously-scheduled appearances on radio shows after suffering a concussion, the singer-songwriter announced. It happened while she was making a bottle in the middle of the night for her son, Lucky Levi Tooker, who was born in September 2021. King apologized in her statement she shared with fans for dropping out of shows in Tampa, Florida; Detroit, Michigan; and Seattle, Washington.

“No one ever wants to pull out of shows, especially me. I live for performing,” King wrote in a statement to her social media followers. “I slipped down the stairs making a bottle in the middle of the night, knocked my a** out, resulting in a concussion. I tried to push through and played 3 shows, but the travel, lights, all of it only exacerbated things. …I wish you all happy and healthy holidays and I can’t wait to get back out next year and sing with you soon.”

Next month, King is set to release her new album, Come Get Your Wife. The 12-track project includes a few previously-released songs, including “Drunk (And I Don’t Wanna Go Home)” with Miranda Lambert and “Worth A Shot” featuring Dierks Bentley. King also debuted “Try Jesus,” with a music video directed by actress and writer Edi Patterson that she called “one of the most creatively freeing and wonderful experiences I have ever been a part of.” The album is set to release on January 27, 2023.
