Lady Antebellum Shares New Heartbreak Song "What If I Never Get Over You"

Lady Antebellum has returned with new music! The trio, consisting of Charles Kelley, Hillary Scott and Dave Haywood, have officially shared their brand new single, "What If I Never Get Over You."

"What If I Never Get Over You" sounds like it could be from the time the band released their hit single "Need You Now," and is about a feeling many people who have ever experienced a breakup know all too well. The song talks about that big "what if" feeling — what if you can't get over your heartbreak? In the chorus, Lady A sings, "What if I'm tryin', but then I close my eyes/ And then I'm right back, lost in the last goodbye?/ What if time doesn't do what its supposed to do?/ What if I never get over you?"

Lady Antebellum's Charles Kelley explained of the song in a statement, "So, 'What If I Never Get Over You' is definitely about that feeling, you know, I think right after you break up, there’s that moment that whether you were the one that did the breaking up or got broken up with, that you wonder if you'll ever find that same connection and love. And I know I felt like that before. Before I met Cassie, I had a longtime girlfriend, and I mean, it was years of feeling that, am I ever gonna find anyone like her? Was that the one? And I think that's why it is kind of a universal message, and that's what this is about."
