A homeless man didn't hesitate when he heard somebody fall into the Mississippi River. The unidentified man jumped into the water and found a woman being dragged down by the currents. He grabbed her and pulled her to the shore.

According to the Star Tribune, the unidentified woman jumped off of the Washington Avenue bridge near the University of Minnesota in downtown Minneapolis. The woman survived the initial fall, and if it was not for the heroic Good Samaritan she would have likely drowned. She was taken to the hospital for treatment and a psychiatric evaluation.

Police said they offered the homeless man shelter, but he declined and returned to his camp underneath the bridge.
